***RK's Tip Tuesday's***
Another thing to add to the list of things to check before hitting the lake, is your prop(s) a damaged or bent prop could throw your prop shaft in your outdrive off balance and cause excessive ware on the seals, allowing water into your gear case and we all know water and oil don't mix, this could cause your outdrive gears to fail which is very costly. Carrying a spare prop is like a spare tire for your trailer or vehicle, it's something that you should have onboard along with the tools to change it out, this could prevent you from being stranded on the lake. Due to water levels fluctuating from year to year and season to season there is a lot of floating debris in our lakes that could cause the damage to your prop(s) so keep an eye out and be safe.
Happy boating
