The boat show is over & we are gearing up for spring, we will be starting RK's Tip Tuesday's starting next week but that's a long time to wait so you get a bonus tip today.
As you know here @RK Marine our main business is canvas, so here is a few tips to maintain Sunbrella products.
Cleaning your canvas is an important part of maintaining a boat that is widely neglected. Clean canvas repels rain & elements much better than dirty canvas, most canvas produced now is dyed acrylic which will last you years if taken care of, a great way to clean top sets, cockpit covers, bow covers is to spread them out on the lawn & use a mild dish soap like Dawn & a soft bristled brush, hose down materials, combine water & soap in a bucket & scrub the canvas on both sides, rinse thoroughly & line dry. Surprisingly that's all you need to do unless your canvas is aged to the point that it won't repel water anymore, then it's time to come & see me for a new one.
Check back on Tuesday we will discuss maintaining clear vinyl.
Happy Boating!
